Core Services:

·       Nursing care

·       Personal care by a home health aide

·       Medical equipment and supplies

·       Medications related to the terminal illness

·       Psychosocial, spiritual and bereavement counselling services (for both patient and family)

·       Inpatient care for pain control, symptom management or short-term respite in a facility under contract

·       Allied health professionals such as physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists and dietitians

·       Lab and diagnostic tests related to the terminal illness

·       Ambulance service for the purpose of change of level of care, such as transportation to the hospital for inpatient care or to a nursing home for respite

Responsibilities of the Hospice RN include, but are not limited to, the following:

·       Appropriately handle calls either by phone or with home or facility visit when necessary or requested.

·       Provide education and emotional support for patients and families.

·       Must electronically communicate all activity when on-call shift ends.

·       Document pertinent calls and visits electronically.

Salary Range: $70,000/year - $75,000/year (dependent on education and experience)

·       Current Virginia State Board of Nursing License - Required

·       Two years’ experience in acute care, home health, long term care, or geriatric nursing. - Required

·       Ability to work independently & capable of dealing with terminally ill patients. - Required

·       Virginia driver license, good driving record and reliable transportation. - Required

·       Must have computer experience. – Required
